Job Description

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions and actionable insights.
Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Qlik Sense.
Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources/datamarts into Qlik Sense; develop and optimize data models and scripting for performance and accuracy.
Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction and transformation.
Optimize data models and dashboards for speed and efficiency; troubleshoot and debug existing Qlik Sense apps to ensure ongoing functionality.
Manage Qlik Sense security (section access) and ensure adherence to best practices and code quality standards.
Identify and address technical risks and technical debt to ensure scalability and maintainability of solutions.
Prepare specifications, quality control documents, and ensure compliance with SOPs, industry standards, regulations, and guidelines.
Present insights and findings to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and impactful manner.
Mentor junior engineers and, when required, lead teams or project initiatives, contributing to technical decisions and strategy.
Stay updated on the latest features and enhancements in Qlik Sense and other BI tools to continuously improve solutions and processes.
Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to support data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Education/Language:

7+ years of professional experience in a services or consulting role preferred.
Bachelors or Masters degree in science, technical, or business discipline, or equivalent experience preferred.
5+ years in QlikView and Qlik Sense development experience preferred.
Understanding of cloud/hybrid data architecture concepts is a plus.
Prior experience in customer-facing roles is a plus.
Experience in Pharmaceutical / Biotechnology / Life Science industry is a plus.

Professional Skills & Experience:

Strong observational and communication skills to identify gaps in processes or products.
Ability to work with various technical and non-technical teams.
Team-oriented with strong collaboration, prioritization, and adaptability skills.
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills with ability to interact with users and clients providing solutions.
Experience in the Life Sciences industry, CRO / clinical trial regulated environment preferred.
Experience in regulatory computer systems validation is a strong plus.

Technical Skills & Experience:

Proficient in SQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL programming, or R, Python, or SAS.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically MS Project and MS Excel.
Experience with multiple database platforms: Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, DB2.
Experience with data reporting tools: Qlik Sense, QlikView, Spotfire, Tableau, JReview, Business Objects, Cognos, MicroStrategy, IBM DataStage, Informatica, Spark, or related tools.
Familiarity with other languages and concepts: .NET, C#, Python, R, Java, HTML, SSRS, AWS, Azure, Spark, REST APIs, Big Data, ETL, data pipelines, data modeling, data analytics, BI, data warehouse, data lake, or related technologies.
