Senior Data Engineer

As a Senior Data Engineer at Barclays, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining the systems that collect, store, process, and analyze data. Your responsibilities will include developing data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and security of all data. **Key Responsibilities:** - Hands-on experience working with large-scale data platforms and developing cloud solutions in AWS data platform to drive business success. - Strong understanding of AWS and distributed computing paradigms, designing and developing data ingestion programs using Glue, Lambda, S3, Redshift, Snowflake, and Databricks. - Developing data ingestion programs to process real-time data from live sources using Apache Kafka, Spark Streaming, Python, and PySpark. - Proficiency in DevOps pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, strong data modeling, data architecture concepts, and familiarity with project management tools and Agile Methodology. - Knowledge of data governance principles and tools such as Alation/Glue Data Quality, capable of suggesting solution architecture for diverse technology applications. **Qualifications Required:** - Experience in the financial services industry and working with various Settlements and Subledger functions like PNS, Stock Record, Settlements, PNL. - Knowledge of BPS, IMPACT, Gloss products from Broadridge, and experience in creating ML models using Python, Spark, and Java.
