About the Role

Senior Data Engineer

This role requires the ability to design, implement, and optimize data pipelines, migrate legacy systems to Azure, and ensure high-quality data delivery aligned with business and analytics needs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Engineering & Pipeline Development

• Design, build, and maintain robust

  ETL/ELT pipelines

  using Azure Databricks, Python, SQL, and Azure Data Factory (ADF).
• Develop scalable solutions for large-scale data processing, transformation, and orchestration.
  
• Implement end-to-end data workflows from ingestion to consumption across structured, semi-structured, and unstructured datasets.
  

2. Azure Cloud Data Platform

• Build and optimize cloud-based data solutions using:
  

• Azure Databricks

• Azure Data Factory

• Azure Data Lake & Delta Lake

• Azure Data Migration tools
  
• Design and manage modern data lakehouse environments, including Delta Lake and Parquet/other Big Data file formats.
  

3. Data Integration & Warehousing

• Work on data integration from multiple sources (on-premise, cloud, third-party APIs).
  
• Develop and maintain data models, data marts, and warehouse structures using best practices.
  
• Optimize SQL queries and implement performance enhancements for large data workloads.
  

4. Cloud Migration & Modernization

• Lead or support

  data migration projects

  from legacy systems into Azure cloud platforms.
• Modernize existing pipelines and data storage solutions for advanced performance and scalability.
  

5. Collaboration & Documentation

• Collaborate closely with data architects, data analysts, BI teams, and business stakeholders.
  
• Prepare technical design documents, data flow diagrams, and pipeline architecture documents.
  
• Ensure proper version control, CI/CD practices, testing, and deployment of data solutions.
  

Required Skills & Experience

• 8 to 15 years

  of professional experience in Data Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  

• Azure Databricks (PySpark, Spark SQL)

• Python & SQL

• Azure Data Factory (ADF)

• ETL/ELT pipelines & orchestration frameworks

• Azure Data Lakes, Delta Lake

• Parquet / Other big data file formats

• Proven experience in cloud-based data engineering and pipeline development.
  
• Strong understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, and data integration principles.
  
• Experience with Azure migration tools and cloud transformation projects.
  

Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for data engineering.
  
• Knowledge of Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, or comparable data platforms.
  
• Exposure to large-scale distributed data systems.
  
• Certifications in

  Azure Data Engineer

  Azure Architect
