Role Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain DBT models, macros, and tests using modular data modeling and semantic best practices.
• Integrate DBT workflows with Snowflake Cortex CLI to enable feature engineering, model training, inference, and automated orchestration.
• Establish and document best practices for DBT–Snowflake Cortex architecture and usage patterns.
• Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to operationalize Cortex workloads within Snowflake.
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines for DBT using tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
• Tune Snowflake compute resources and queries for performance optimization and cost efficiency.
• Troubleshoot issues across DBT artifacts, Snowflake objects, data lineage, and data quality checks.
• Provide guidance on DBT project governance, structure, documentation, and testing frameworks.
  

Requirements

• Strong experience with DBT Core or DBT Cloud, including macros, packages, testing, and deployments.
• Deep expertise with Snowflake, including warehouses, tasks, streams, materialized views, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake Cortex CLI or demonstrated ability to ramp up quickly.
• Advanced SQL proficiency with working knowledge of Python for scripting and DBT automation.
• Experience integrating DBT with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect.
• Solid understanding of modern data engineering principles, ELT patterns, and version-controlled analytics development.
• Ability to work independently in a cloud-native, production-grade data environment.
