Role Objective

To conceptualize, write, and deliver powerful, engaging, and emotionally resonant content that strengthens K.R. Mangalam's brand identity across its University and Schools. The Senior Copywriter will transform academic excellence, student success, and institutional achievements into compelling narratives across all communication platforms digital, print, outdoor, and PR.

Key Responsibilities

1. Campaign & Concept Development

  • Collaborate with the Brand and Creative teams to ideate and execute

    advertising campaigns (ATL, BTL, and digital)

    that build awareness and drive admissions.
  • Translate brand strategy into creative storytelling for digital videos, social media campaigns, and print ads.
  • Write strong conceptual copy for campaigns, ensuring originality, clarity, and emotional impact.

2. Content Creation & Writing

  • Write

    clear, concise, and engaging copy

    for websites, brochures, social media posts, print advertisements, scripts, and internal newsletters.
  • Craft

    persuasive ad copy

    and long-form editorial content that reflects the university's tone, values, and positioning.
  • Create scripts for

    reels, brand films, and student/alumni stories

    .
  • Adapt content to suit various audiences students, parents, corporates, and academic stakeholders.

3. Editorial & Quality Control

  • Proofread and edit all written content for grammar, tone, and consistency.
  • Ensure high editorial standards and creative excellence across every brand output.
  • Review and polish junior writers work to maintain voice consistency and accuracy.

4. Collaboration & Coordination

  • Work closely with

    Design, Digital, PR, and Admissions teams

    to ensure unified storytelling across campaigns.
  • Collaborate with

    academic teams

    to convert research, programs, and faculty achievements into student-friendly communication.
  • Partner with

    Video and Social Media teams

    to create engaging, cross-format content ideas.

5. Research & Strategy Support

  • Research

    education trends, global communication styles, and competitor campaigns

    to ensure relevance and innovation.
  • Support the Creative Director (Copy) in developing brand tone guides, campaign briefs, and editorial calendars.
  • Contribute ideas to

    content strategy and annual marketing communication plans

    .

6. Mentorship & Team Support

  • Guide junior copywriters and interns with constructive feedback and creative development support.
  • Assist in managing daily workflow, timelines, and copy deliverables.

  • Timely delivery of campaign and copy assets.
  • High engagement and conversion rates for content-driven campaigns.
  • Positive qualitative feedback from internal teams and leadership.
  • Consistency in tone and quality across all written communication.
  • Contribution of fresh, creative campaign ideas each quarter.

Candidate Profile

  • Education:

    Bachelor's / Master's in Mass Communication, English, Journalism, or Advertising.
  • Experience:

    610 years in copywriting, brand storytelling, or advertising (education or consumer brands preferred).
  • Proven ability to

    conceptualize and write across media

    print, digital, video, and outdoor.
  • Excellent command of English with a flair for emotional and aspirational storytelling.
  • Strong understanding of brand tone, creative strategy, and audience psychology.
