Senior Cleaning Supervisor

You will be part of the Cleaning Team within Facilities Services at the University of York. As a Senior Cleaning Supervisor, you will bridge the gap between Cleaning Managers and Supervisors to ensure the highest standards of service and cleanliness throughout the university campus sites and outlying properties. Your role will involve interacting with colleagues, students, and conference visitors, requiring effective communication skills and the ability to undertake physical and manual handling activities. - Assist Cleaning Managers in providing an efficient and effective cleaning service - Ensure highest standards of service and cleanliness are maintained - Communicate effectively with staff, students, and conference guests - Supervise and monitor staff attendance - Undertake moderate physical and manual handling activities - Work flexible hours, including weekends and additional hours when necessary - Cleaning experience - Experience in providing excellent customer service - Supervisory experience - Ability to allocate work effectively and ensure service standards are met - Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Email - Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe working methods - Understanding of Health & Safety issues related to manual handling and COSHH - General education including 5 GCSE passes at Grade C or above or equivalent qualification - Evidence of upholding specified behaviors as per the person specification The Directorate of Technology, Estates and Facilities [DTEF] at the University of York is responsible for providing exceptional work, study, and research facilities to enhance the student experience, both on campus and online.
