Senior Backend Engineer

Key Responsibilities

* Develop, maintain, and enhance backend services using TypeScript and NestJS

* Design and implement RESTful APIs for internal and external integrations

* Work with PostgreSQL/MySQL, writing efficient SQL queries and database scripts

* Use TypeORM for data modeling, migrations, and query building

* Support the design and deployment of microservices across distributed systems

* Collaborate with DevOps teams to deploy and manage applications in AWS environments

* Diagnose and troubleshoot issues across services and integrations

* Participate actively in code reviews, contributing to clean, maintainable codebases

* Write unit tests and ensure code coverage for reliability and maintainability

* Work closely with frontend teams (React) to define and deliver API contracts

Qualifications

Required:

* 3-5 years of experience in backend development using TypeScript or JavaScript

* Hands-on experience with NestJS or similar Node.js frameworks (e.g., Express)

* Proficient in PostgreSQL or MySQL, with solid SQL scripting skills

* Strong experience building and consuming REST APIs

* Familiarity with microservice architecture concepts and patterns

* Working knowledge of TypeORM and data modeling

* Exposure to AWS services (e.g., Lambda, ECS, S3, RDS)

* Understanding of Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and code review processes

* Experience writing unit and integration tests (preferably with Jest)

Preferred:

* Exposure to React and API integration with frontend systems

* Experience with Docker or other containerization technologies

* Familiarity with event-driven architecture or message queues

Work hrs

From IST 5 PM to 2 AM to support the client in US Central time-zone. Can be slightly flexible after 6 months.
