Senior Backend Engineer

As a Senior Backend Engineer with over 7 years of professional experience, you possess deep expertise in Golang and Python. Your background includes architecting and maintaining high-performance distributed systems, delivering robust APIs, scalable microservices, and automation scripts in dynamic, product-focused environments. You excel in Golang's concurrency model and are proficient in using Python to build APIs using FastAPI or Flask, as well as scripting automation tasks. Your strong DevOps sensibilities enable you to follow infrastructure-as-code principles and build cloud-native applications using Docker and Kubernetes. You are committed to code quality, performance tuning, and observability, and you thrive in collaborating cross-functionally to deliver impactful features. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain scalable backend services using Golang and Python, supporting both synchronous APIs and asynchronous, event-driven processes. You will write and optimize RESTful APIs using Golang and Python frameworks, integrate them into platform systems, and build automation scripts to streamline operations, monitoring, and DevOps workflows. Your responsibilities will also include owning the entire development lifecycle, ensuring system availability, fault tolerance, and low-latency performance, collaborating with product managers and designers, participating in code reviews and system design sessions, and mentoring junior developers. Your key technical skills include expert-level proficiency in Golang, hands-on experience with Python, building and scaling cloud-native systems using Docker and Kubernetes, proficiency in relational databases and NoSQL systems, familiarity with event-driven architectures, understanding of software observability, CI/CD pipeline development, and experience with secure API design and authentication protocols. Additionally, familiarity with major cloud providers, Domain-Driven Design, Clean Architecture, performance profiling and optimization, and having an end-to-end ownership mentality are considered as bonus or preferred qualifications.
