Senior Backend Developer

Role & responsibilities

• Lead the backend development team, mentoring and guiding mid-level developers.
• Define and enforce backend architecture standards, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability.
• Design and implement APIs, services, and database structures to support recruitment workflows.
• Manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases, focusing on performance, indexing, and scalability.
• Oversee infrastructure in AWS ECS (Fargate), ensuring uptime and cost-efficiency.
• Implement and maintain Terraform scripts for infrastructure automation.
• Conduct code reviews, ensure best practices, and manage the backend codebase.
• Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and UX/UI designers for end-to-end delivery.
• Drive DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and incident response.
• Stay updated with emerging backend technologies and recommend improvements.

Mandatory Requirements

• 6 to 10 years of professional backend development experience, with at least 2+ years in a leadership/mentorship role.
• Proficiency in Java 21, with strong expertise in Spring Boot 3 and JPA/Hibernate.
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL and relational database design.
• Strong experience with AWS ECS (Fargate) and container orchestration.
• Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Proven track record of leading teams, conducting code reviews, and enforcing coding standards.
• Ability to design scalable microservices architectures for high-volume platforms.
• Self-driven, goal-oriented, with strong collaboration and communication skills.

Good to Have

• Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).
• Knowledge of caching strategies (Redis, Memcached) and API performance optimization.
• Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools (CloudWatch, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Exposure to security best practices (IAM roles, encryption, data protection).
• Prior experience scaling systems for global user bases.
