Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Production Oversight

Allocate work to operators/assemblers so daily/shift targets are met.
Monitor progress of assembly line; adjust staffing or workflow in response to delays or demand changes.

Quality Assurance

Perform regular inspections during production.
Identify defects, nonconformances; implement corrective actions to maintain product standards.

Safety & Compliance

Enforce safety procedures (electrical safety, use of PPE etc.).
Ensure the workplace is clean, organized, and complies with regulatory and company safety norms.

Team Management & Training

Supervise, mentor, and guide line workers.
Train new staff; ensure everyone follows standard work instructions and best practices.

Equipment & Tool Management

Ensure tools, fixtures, machines are maintained, in working condition.
Coordinate with maintenance for repairs or preventive maintenance.

Material & Inventory Handling

Ensure all parts/components required for assembly are available to prevent stoppages.
Coordinate with stores/procurement to manage supplies.

ProblemSolving & Continuous Improvement

Detect bottlenecks, breakdowns or waste; propose/impose solutions.
Suggest improvements in process, layout, or work flow to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

Reporting & Documentation

Maintain shift logs: output, rejects, downtime etc.
Report performance (production numbers, quality issues, safety) to higher management.

Interdepartment Liaison

Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Procurement, Engineering etc. for smooth operations.
Communicate changes in product specs or process requirements.
