Senior Android Framework & HAL Integration Specialist

Job Requirements

Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Android Specialist with 10+ years of experience in Android development, particularly in Android framework and Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) integration. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Android's underlying architecture and system-level components, with significant experience in hardware integration and customization of AOSP (Android Open Source Project).

Key Responsibilities:

• Android

  Framework Development:

• Lead development and enhancement of the Android framework for customized solutions.
• Work on low-level system optimization and feature development for Android.
• Manage and contribute to Android's internal framework components, ensuring robust and efficient designs.

• HAL Development and Support:

• Oversee integration of hardware components through HAL.
• Collaborate with hardware teams to ensure seamless integration of various hardware platforms.
• Manage and troubleshoot issues related to HAL, including device drivers and firmware integration.

• System-level Integration:

• Optimize the performance of Android OS, ensuring smooth interaction between hardware and software.
• Develop custom Android builds for specific hardware configurations.

• Cross-functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with QA, hardware teams, and product management to ensure high-quality product delivery.
• Lead troubleshooting of critical issues in Android platform integration.

Work Experience

• Education:

• Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or related field.

• Experience:

• 10+ years of experience in Android development, with at least 5 years working on Android frameworks and HAL.
• Expertise in AOSP and deep knowledge of Android internals.
• Extensive hands-on experience in Android kernel development and hardware integration.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, C/C++, and other system-level languages.
• Proven experience in troubleshooting and debugging Android platform-level issues using adb, logcat, and performance profiling tools.

• Technical Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of Android architecture, HAL, and system-level development.
• Expertise in customizing Android builds and AOSP for different hardware platforms.
• Experience with Android kernel modifications, device drivers, and low-level debugging.
