Security Administrator

Role & responsibilities

Server Administration (Windows):

• Install, configure, manage, and troubleshoot Windows Server operating systems (2016/2019/2022).
• Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and other core Windows services.
• Monitor server performance, health, and logs to ensure availability and reliability.
• Perform system backups, patch management, and software updates regularly.
• Manage virtualization platforms (e.g., Hyper-V, VMware).
• Maintain system documentation and inventory.

Firewall & Network Security:

• Configure, manage, and monitor firewalls (e.g., Sophos, Fortinet, Palo Alto, SonicWall).
• Define and enforce firewall policies, VPN access, and network segmentation.
• Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans.
• Work with networking teams to ensure secure architecture and incident prevention.

Endpoint Security:

• Deploy and manage endpoint protection platforms (e.g., Sophos, Symantec, CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender).
• Monitor endpoint activities and respond to threats and anomalies.
• Maintain and enforce endpoint hardening policies and compliance.

Email Gateway & Messaging Security:

• Manage and secure email gateways (e.g., Sophos Email Protection, Microsoft Defender for Office 365).
• Implement anti-spam, anti-phishing, and DLP policies.
• Monitor and investigate suspicious email activities and respond to incidents.

IT Infrastructure Security:

• Develop and enforce IT security policies and procedures.
• Support audits, compliance requirements (ISO 27001, GDPR, etc.), and risk assessments.
• Manage user access controls and identity management systems.
• Respond to security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree / Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Windows Server Administration and IT Security.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies including AD, GPO, and Windows Server roles.
• Experience with firewall configuration and security policies.
• Familiarity with endpoint protection, EDR, and patch management solutions.
• Understanding of email security concepts and tools.
• Knowledge of IT security frameworks and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
