Lead Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong technical expertise in modern testing methodologies and a passion for automation and process improvement.

What Youll Do

• Lead the Quality Assurance Process:

  Own the end-to-end testing cycle, from initial requirements analysis and test strategy creation to test execution and final release sign-off.

• Mentor & Lead:

  Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. Youll lead technical initiatives, conduct code reviews, and participate in design discussions.

• Develop & Automate:

  Design, develop, and maintain robust test plans, test cases, and a highly reusable automation test suite for APIs, performance, and UI. Integrate these automated tests into our CI/CD pipelines.

• Hands-On Testing:

  Perform both manual and automated testing, with a strong focus on API-level and UI-level testing.

• Improve Processes:

  Continuously evaluate and enhance our testing processes, tools, and strategies. Youll stay current with industry trends and identify areas for improvement in the SDLC.

• Collaborate & Communicate:

  Work closely with product owners, managers, and architects to understand system requirements. Communicate testing progress, quality metrics, and potential risks to stakeholders.

What Youll Bring

• Experience:

  6-10 years of professional experience in an SDET or similar role-Lead SDET
• 4- 6 Years of professional experience in an SDET or similar role-SDET II

10-15 years of professional experience in an SDET or similar role-STaff SDET

• Technical Expertise:

• Languages & Frameworks:

  Strong proficiency in programming languages like

  Java, Typescript, Python

  , or

  C#

  . Hands-on experience with automation frameworks like

  Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress

  , as well as unit testing frameworks like

  TestNG

  or

  JUnit

  .

• API Testing:

  In-depth knowledge of API principles and strong skills in writing scripts with tools like

  Postman, SOAPUI,

  or

  REST Assured

  .

• Performance Testing:

  Experience with performance testing concepts (load, stress) and tools like

  JMeter

  or

  Gatling

  .

• CI/CD & Version Control:

  Experience with CI/CD tools (

  Jenkins, Bamboo

  ) and version control systems (

  Git, Bitbucket

  ).

• Agile Mindset:

  Deep understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

• Leadership Skills:

  Proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team. You should be a proactive problem-solver with strong analytical and communication skills.

Good to Have

• Knowledge of cloud-native technologies and cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
• Relevant professional certifications.
