Role Overview

Scrum Master

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Agile teams, ensuring adherence to Scrum principles, practices, and ceremonies.
• Facilitate sprint ceremonies: planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Partner with Product Owners and Business Analysts to prioritize backlogs and ensure user stories are well-defined (e.g., in Jira).
• Remove impediments proactively, ensuring teams can deliver commitments effectively.
• Collaborate with Business Solutions Architects, Cloud/DevOps Engineers, QA/Test Managers, and Developers to align delivery with architecture and product goals.
• Track and report Agile metrics (velocity, burndown, throughput, quality indicators) to stakeholders.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by facilitating team retrospectives and implementing actionable outcomes.
• Shield teams from external disruptions while promoting strong stakeholder communication and transparency.
• Support organizational Agile maturity by mentoring teams and stakeholders on Agile mindset and practices.
  

Required Skills & Experience

• 8 -12 years of overall IT experience with

  at least 3+ years as a Scrum Master

  .
• Strong knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and experience scaling Agile across multiple teams.
• Excellent facilitation, conflict resolution, and servant leadership skills.
• Experience working with tools like

  Jira

  .
• Strong understanding of

  software delivery life cycles

  in

  cloud-native environments (AWS, CI/CD, DevOps)

  .

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Scrum Master (

  CSM

  ),

  PSM

  , or

  SAFe Scrum Master

  certification.
• Familiarity with

  US Retirement Services domain

  (401(k), 403(b), pensions, compliance, recordkeeping).
• Experience coaching

  distributed or hybrid Agile teams

  .
• Knowledge of

  DevOps practices

  ,

  CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins)

  , and

  cloud delivery principles (AWS)

  .
