Job Description

  • The Screw Rolling Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of screw/thread rolling machines to ensure efficient production, quality output, minimal downtime, and adherence to safety standards.
  • The role requires strong technical knowledge of screw rolling processes, dies, tooling, and machine settings, along with team management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Production Management

  • Plan, schedule, and supervise screw rolling activities to meet daily and monthly production targets.
  • Allocate manpower and assign machines based on skill levels and production priorities.
  • Ensure optimal machine utilization and reduce idle time.
  1. Machine & Process Supervision

  • Oversee setup and operation of thread rolling/screw rolling machines (flat die, planetary, or circular die types).
  • Verify correct installation of dies, rollers, and tooling.
  • Monitor rolling parameters (speed, feed, pressure) and adjust as required.
  • Troubleshoot production issues such as thread defects, material slip, poor finishing, or die wear.
  1. Quality Control

  • Ensure screws meet required dimensional tolerances, thread accuracy, pitch, straightness, and surface finish.
  • Work closely with QC teams to address non-conformities.
  • Implement corrective actions for repeated defects.
  • Maintain records for in-process inspection and final inspection.
  1. Preventive Maintenance Support

  • Coordinate with maintenance teams for regular servicing of machines, lubrication, die dressing, and timely die/roller changes.
  • Identify early signs of machine wear or alignment issues.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of dies, tools, and materials.
  1. Workforce Supervision & Training

  • Supervise machine operators, helpers, and shift personnel.
  • Provide training in machine setup, die mounting, safety, and defect identification.
  • Evaluate team performance and encourage continuous improvement.
  1. Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce workplace safety rules and PPE compliance.
  • Ensure machines are operated according to safety standards.
  • Conduct safety briefings and report incidents or near misses.
  1. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain daily production reports, downtime logs, tool usage records, and rejection reports.
  • Report material shortages, machine issues, and production delays to management.
  • Assist in process improvement documentation (SOPs, work instructions).

Qualifications & Experience:

B.E. (Mech)

  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of progressive experience

    in screw manufacturing.
