Job Description

Role Overview: As a Scientist at USP-India's Biologics laboratory, you will be responsible for performing bioassays and binding for various biologics product classes such as recombinant proteins and mAbs, conducting vaccine and cell and gene therapy functional characterization assays, and viral assays. Your role will involve hands-on execution of projects including collaborative testing of reference standards, characterization of biological products, and method development and validation for the development of standards. You will support activities related to the India Biologics laboratory, contributing to the advancement of public health solutions worldwide. Key Responsibilities: - Proficient in in vitro cell-based relative potency assays - Skilled in handling cell lines and primary cells, and experienced in conducting functional activity and immunogenicity assays - Capable of method qualification and validation, protocol, and report writing - Plans and executes research projects under supervision - Collaborates with cross-functional teams to solve technical and process-related issues - Stays updated on current trends and developments in the scientific field - Seeks innovative ways to enhance protocols and results - Assists in planning, implementing, and evaluating laboratory procedures/systems - Supports departmental trainings and attends scientific seminars and conferences - Follows Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Quality Management System (QMS) practices - Recommends improvements to systems and participates in internal and external audits - Aligns with USP's mission and complies with guidelines and requirements - Performs other assigned duties Qualifications Required: - MSc. in Biochemistry or related Biological Science field with 3-6 years of industrial experience in biopharmaceutical product development and quality testing - Expertise in relative potency assays, mAb functional assays, flow cytometry, and primary cell culture - Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting data using statistical software/methods for relative potency determination - Laboratory experience in developing and validating assays, and knowledge and experience in Quality Management System (QMS) Additional Company Details: USP values inclusive scientific collaboration and promotes equitable access to mentorship, professional development, and leadership opportunities.
