Job Description

The School Electrician role at JKG International School in Indirapuram falls under the Maintenance & Facilities department. As a School Electrician, your primary responsibility is to install, maintain, and repair all electrical systems and related infrastructure within the school premises. Your role is crucial in ensuring the safety, functionality, and compliance of all electrical installations to support a secure learning environment. Your key responsibilities include installing and maintaining electrical wiring, outlets, lighting systems, circuit breakers, UPS, inverters, and other electrical components. You will also be responsible for maintaining classroom smartboards, projectors, fans, ACs, water heaters, and other appliances as per school requirements. Additionally, you will be required to troubleshoot electrical problems using appropriate testing devices, repair or replace faulty wiring, switches, lights, and other components, and ensure that power backup systems such as generators and inverters are functioning correctly. Conducting regular inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards, performing routine checks on electrical panels, distribution boards, and earthing systems, and maintaining records of inspections and repairs are also part of your responsibilities. You must ensure that all electrical work complies with local safety regulations and school policies, identify and resolve safety hazards, and support in conducting electrical fire safety drills and training when required. You will be coordinating with school administration and external vendors for procurement of parts, maintaining a log of work completed, materials used, and maintenance schedules, and providing technical support during school events such as setting up lighting/sound systems. To qualify for this role, you should have an ITI/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent trade certification, along with a minimum of 2-5 years of experience as an electrician, preferably in an institutional or school environment. Sound knowledge of electrical systems, blueprints, schematics, and safety standards is essential. You should be able to work independently, handle emergencies efficiently, and be physically fit to perform manual tasks. Preferred qualities include basic knowledge of HVAC systems, CCTV, PA systems, and fire alarm systems, good communication skills, flexibility to work during off-hours, and a proactive and responsible attitude. This is a permanent, full-time position that may require availability during weekends or after-hours for urgent repairs or events. The job may involve climbing ladders, working at heights, or in confined spaces, and the use of protective gear and adherence to safety protocols is mandatory.,
