SAS & Communication Manager

Purpose/Objective

The ENOC Operations Manager - Transmission is responsible for ensuring uninterrupted grid reliability, real-time operational efficiency, and automation-driven optimization across transmission networks, EHV, and PPP substations. The role oversees system monitoring, load and voltage control, emergency response coordination, and compliance with regulatory protocols while leveraging advanced SCADA tools for diagnostics and automation. It strengthens grid stability by leading grid coordination activities, outage management, and seamless stakeholder communication with DISCOMs, site teams, and regulatory authorities. Additionally, the role drives continuous process automation, enhances SCADA performance, and fosters a collaborative environment to support the organization's commitment to delivering efficient, reliable, and resilient energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities of Role

ENOC Operations Manager-Tx Grid Operations & Real-Time Performance Management: Ensure uninterrupted grid performance by monitoring real-time grid operations, executing load management, and managing planned and emergency outages in coordination with RLDC, SLDC, and field teams. Optimize grid reliability by performing ICT tap operations, reactor switching, and execution of AMP protocols, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient power flow. Track and resolve critical alarms and system anomalies in real time, minimizing disruptions and improving response times through predictive diagnostics. Strengthen shift-wise operational continuity by ensuring seamless handovers, documenting unresolved issues, and updating performance logs for effective decision-making. Governance, Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure regulatory compliance by aligning grid operations with NLDC, RLDC, DISCOM, and OCC frameworks, maintaining accurate logs, and ensuring adherence to approved outage plans. Enhance audit readiness and transparency by updating outage and tripping details on regulatory portals, maintaining compliance documentation, and verifying operational execution against performance benchmarks. Strengthen disaster recovery and risk mitigation by identifying and addressing recurring alarms, critical faults, and cybersecurity vulnerabilities, ensuring grid resilience during emergencies. Minimize operational risks and performance deviations by conducting root cause analyses (RCA) on system failures, tracking MTBF/MTTR metrics, and implementing corrective actions. Technology & Automation Integration: Drive grid automation efficiency by leveraging SCADA, SUCOS, and predictive diagnostic tools, reducing manual intervention, and enhancing real-time fault detection. Support technology integration by overseeing Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), verifying system readiness, and ensuring successful commissioning of digital projects. Improve SCADA system performance by analyzing operational data, optimizing real-time monitoring capabilities, and enhancing automation processes for outage reduction. Foster continuous process improvements by assessing network reliability data, identifying automation gaps, and implementing targeted enhancements to improve operational efficiency. Stakeholder Coordination & Communication: Strengthen collaboration with RLDC, SLDC, DISCOM, and regulatory bodies to ensure seamless outage planning, load adjustments, and compliance with operational directives. Improve grid performance by maintaining structured engagement with OEMs, vendors, and contractors, addressing technical challenges and aligning project deliverables with operational requirements. Ensure smooth grid operations by coordinating with ENOC teams, site operators, and internal departments, resolving escalations efficiently, and optimizing communication workflows. Facilitate accurate reporting and data sharing by ensuring timely updates on grid performance, operational anomalies, and compliance metrics to key stakeholders. Team Leadership & Capability Development: Develop a high-performing ENOC operations team by implementing structured training programs on SCADA systems, predictive diagnostics, outage management, and grid automation tools. Strengthen team efficiency and technical acumen by mentoring shift teams, monitoring performance benchmarks, and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational discipline, driving engagement initiatives, best practice sharing, and process standardization.
