Job Description

Position - SAP Support Lead

Location - Peenya, Bangalore

Experience

  • 8+ years of SAP experience, with at least 3 years in a SAP implementation / support/ lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP ECC / S/4HANA with expertise in at least 2 core modules (MM, PP, SD, FI/CO, etc.).

Prior experience supporting SAP in a manufacturing industry environment

Role

The SAP Support Lead will be responsible for managing the day-to-day support, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the SAP landscape in a manufacturing environment. This role ensures smooth operations of SAP systems, timely resolution of incidents, and delivery of enhancements to meet evolving business requirements. The SAP Support Lead will coordinate with internal teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors to provide reliable and efficient SAP support services.

Key Responsibilities

  • SAP System Support

Lead the SAP support team across modules (MM, PP, SD, FI/CO, QM, WM, PM, etc.).

Ensure timely resolution of incidents, service requests, and system issues based on defined SLAs.

Coordinate with SAP Basis and infrastructure teams to ensure system stability and performance.

  • Team & Vendor Management

Manage internal SAP support team and third-party vendors/AMS partners.

Allocate support tickets, monitor progress, and ensure high-quality service delivery.

Provide guidance, mentoring, and knowledge transfer to junior team members.

  • Continuous Improvement

Work closely with business process owners to identify enhancements and change requests.

Implement system improvements and ensure proper testing before deployment.

Ensure SAP solutions are aligned with manufacturing best practices and evolving business needs.

  • Governance & Compliance

Maintain documentation for incidents, configurations, enhancements, and knowledge base.

Ensure compliance with IT policies, audit requirements, and data security standards.

Manage SAP user access controls in collaboration with security and audit teams.

  • Stakeholder Management

Act as the single point of contact for business stakeholders for SAP-related support.

Conduct regular review meetings with business teams to track support performance and gather feedback.

Collaborate with global/regional IT teams for escalations and cross-system issues.

Qualification, Knowledge & Experience, Deliverables

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, Computer Science, IT, or related field.

Deliverables

  • Act as the primary contact for SAP support issues raised by business teams.
  • Ensure SAP systems (ECC/S4HANA and connected applications) run smoothly with minimum downtime.
  • Proactively monitor and resolve performance issues.
  • Timely resolution of incidents and service requests as per defined SLAs.
  • Effective coordination with AMS (Application Management Services) partners and monitor vendor performance against SLAs and escalate when required.
