Job Description

The Quality Assurance Group (QAG) plays a critical role in ensuring the excellence of all SAP solutions delivered to customers. This group is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust quality processes, methodologies, and standards throughout the entire SAP project lifecycle, from initial requirements gathering to post-go-live support. The QA Group ensures that all SAP solutions meet client expectations, business requirements, and industry best practices. Key Responsibilities of the QA Group: The responsibilities of the SAP Quality Assurance Group are comprehensive and may include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement QA strategies: Define the overall QA strategy and approach for SAP projects, aligning with company goals and client requirements. Test Planning: Create comprehensive test plans, including scope, objectives, resources, timelines, and entry/exit criteria for various testing phases (e.g., unit, integration, system, regression, user acceptance, performance, security). Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential risks and challenges in SAP projects from a quality perspective and develop mitigation strategies. Tooling and Technology: Research, evaluate, and recommend appropriate QA tools and technologies (e.g test management tools, automation tools, performance testing tools) to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the QA process by analyzing past project data, identifying lessons learned, and implementing best practices. 2. Test Design and Execution: Oversee the planning, execution, and reporting of various testing phases, including unit, integration, system, and user acceptance testing. 3. Collaboration and Communication: Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, functional consultants, technical developers, business users, and other stakeholders to ensure a shared understanding of quality goals and project progress. Status Reporting: Provide clear, concise, and regular updates on testing progress, defect status, and overall quality metrics to project teams and senior management. Stakeholder Communication: Manage stakeholder expectations regarding quality, testing scope, and defect resolution. 4. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive QA documentation: This includes test plans, test cases, test scripts, test reports, defect logs, and traceability matrices. Generate Quality Metrics: Track and report on key quality metrics such as test execution progress, defect density, defect trends, and test coverage to assess overall quality. Post-Implementation Review: Participate in post-implementation reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of the QA process and identify areas for improvement. 5. SAP Specific Responsibilities: Deep understanding of SAP modules: Possess strong functional knowledge of relevant SAP modules based on project requirements. SAP landscape knowledge: Understand the different SAP environments (Development, Quality, Production) and their significance in the QA process. Knowledge of SAP testing methodologies: Familiarity with SAP-specific testing approaches and too including those integrated with SAP Solution Manager. Awareness of SAP best practices: Ensure that testing aligns with SAP best practices and industry standards. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Experience 8-10 years, depending on role seniority within the group in Quality Assurance with a significant focus on SAP projects. Strong understanding of software methodologies (SAP Activate, Agile, Waterfall, V-Model, etc.). Expert-level knowledge of QA tool and techniques used in Preventive Quality Assurance, Detective Quality Assurance, Corrective and Improvement QA. Exposure to various testing types (functional, integration, regression, performance, security, etc.). Knowledge of SAP modules and business processes relevant to the company's service offerings. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail. Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Proactive and results-oriented with a strong commitment to quality. Ability to learn new SAP modules and technologies quickly.
