SAP CO Functional Responsibilities:
Configure and customize SAP CO modules including:
Cost Element Accounting
Cost Center Accounting
Profit Center Accounting
Internal Orders
Activity-Based Costing (ABC)
Profitability Analysis (COPA)
CATS (Cross-Application Time Sheet)
Implement and support Event-Based Revenue Recognition processes, especially for service industry scenarios.
Lead or support 3 full-cycle SAP CO implementations, preferably in service-based organizations.
Ensure seamless integration of SAP CO with PS, FI, SD, and CATS modules for accurate data flow and reporting.
Manage CO data migration and ensure data integrity during transitions.
Testing & Documentation:
Draft and execute test cases for new developments and configurations in S/4HANA.
Conduct UAT and regression testing, including script writing and validation.
Prepare and maintain functional specifications, user manuals, and change documentation.
Business Collaboration & Support:
Work closely with Controlling teams and business users to gather requirements and translate them into SAP solutions.
Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for SAP CO-related issues, including user training and authorization management.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (technical and functional) to resolve issues and implement enhancements.
Project & Methodology Alignment:
Support global rollouts and standardization of management reporting processes.
Follow SAP Activate and Agile methodologies for project execution and delivery.
General Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day support and issue resolution for SAP CO processes.
Ensure compliance with finance and controlling best practices and legislation.
Utilize MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation.
Education:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. SAP CO certification is a strong advantage.
Domain Experience:
3–5 years of hands-on experience in the Controlling department of reputed companies, preferably in the services industry.
SAP Experience:
Minimum 3 full-cycle implementations in SAP CO modules (ECC 6.0 and/or S/4HANA).
Strong expertise in Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, Internal Orders, COPA, and CATS.
Experience with Event-Based Revenue Recognition and data integration across SAP PS, FI, SD, and external systems.
Technical & Functional Skills:
Proficient in configuration, customization, and support of SAP CO modules.
Skilled in requirement gathering, functional documentation, testing (UAT, regression), and issue resolution.
Familiar with SAP Activate and Agile methodologies.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
A proactive team player with the ability to collaborate across functions.
Tools & Technology:
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Experience with non-SAP time data integration is a plus.
