SAP BASIS (BODS) Consultant

This role manages the SAP BusinessObjects Data Services (BODS) platform within the SAP BASIS scope, ensuring stable, secure, and efficient operations. You will administer BODS user and role access, repositories, scheduling of jobs, and overall access management. The position also covers SAP HANA database administration tasks such as table and virtual table creation and Smart Data Access (SDA) configuration and maintenance. The engineer collaborates with project and support teams to troubleshoot issues, manage promotions across environments, and maintain compliance with security and operational standards.

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on SAP BASIS experience with strong focus on SAP BODS administration
• Proficiency in SAP BODS user and role management, access controls, and security
• Expertise in BODS repository management (creation, configuration, maintenance)
• Experience scheduling and managing BODS jobs and job servers
• Solid SAP HANA administration skills, including SQL for table creation and schema management
• Hands-on experience creating virtual tables in SAP HANA
• Smart Data Access (SDA) configuration, connectivity, and troubleshooting
• General database administration tasks such as monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance basics

Responsibilities

• Administer SAP BODS users, roles, and access rights aligned with security policies
• Create, configure, and maintain BODS repositories and manage environment promotions as applicable
• Set up and manage job servers, schedules, and calendars for BODS jobs
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve BODS job failures and repository or access issues
• Perform SAP HANA DB tasks including table and virtual table creation and schema updates
• Configure and maintain SAP HANA Smart Data Access (SDA), including remote source connectivity
• Collaborate with development and BI teams to coordinate deployments and resolve operational issues
• Maintain documentation and adhere to change, access, and compliance controls
