Job Summary:

SAP AMS Project Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end SAP AMS engagements, including incident, service request, change request, and problem management.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution.
• Coordinate with functional and technical teams (FI/CO, SD, MM, PP, ABAP, Basis, BW, etc.) to ensure timely support delivery.
• Ensure SLA adherence and KPI tracking, including reporting and governance.
• Lead daily stand-ups, status calls, and monthly/quarterly governance reviews.
• Drive root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes to reduce recurring issues.
• Handle team allocation, shift planning, and workload balancing.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives in SAP support processes.
• Support transition activities from implementation teams or other vendors to AMS teams.
• Ensure compliance with ITIL best practices and customer-specific AMS processes.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 8+ years of experience in SAP project management, with at least 35 years in SAP AMS.
• Strong understanding of SAP landscapes (ECC, S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, HANA DB, etc.).
• Hands-on knowledge of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Release Management).
• Proven experience in managing multi-vendor environments and offshore delivery teams.
• Proficient in stakeholder engagement and client communication.
• Experience with tools like Solution Manager, ServiceNow, JIRA, HP ALM, or similar.
• PMP/Prince2/ITIL certification is a plus.
• Ability to analyze support metrics and drive service improvements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience in transitioning projects from implementation to AMS.
• Exposure to SAP Fiori, BTP, and cloud integration scenarios.
• Knowledge of SAP security, GRC, or audit processes is a plus.
