Role OverviewAs a SAP ABAP + Adobe Forms Professional, you will design, develop, and maintain ABAP applications and Adobe Forms within the SAP environment. You will work closely with functional teams, business stakeholders, and technical teams to deliver interactive and print forms, reports, and integrations. Your role will involve both development and support, ensuring high performance, usability, and maintainability of forms in SAP.Role OverviewAs a SAP ABAP + Adobe Forms Professional, you will design, develop, and maintain ABAP applications and Adobe Forms within the SAP environment. You will work closely with functional teams, business stakeholders, and technical teams to deliver interactive and print forms, reports, and integrations. Your role will involve both development and support, ensuring high performance, usability, and maintainability of forms in SAP.Key Responsibilities
ABAP Development:
- Design, code, test, and maintain ABAP programs (reports, modules, enhancements).
- Develop custom enhancements using ABAP: User Exits, BADIs, BAPIs, Enhancement Spots.
- Work with modern ABAP paradigms: OO-ABAP, CDS Views, AMDP, etc.
- Implement interfaces: ALE / IDocs, RFC, BAPI, Web Services.
- Optimize ABAP code for performance (SQL tuning, memory management).
- Participate in unit testing, integration testing (SIT), and UAT.
Adobe Forms Development:
- Develop Adobe Forms (interactive and print) using transaction
  SFP
  / Adobe LiveCycle Designer.
- Define form interfaces / contexts and bind form data structures (CDS, RFC, internal tables).
- Implement dynamic behavior: conditional sections, dynamic tables, scripting in forms (FormCalc / JavaScript).
- Migrate existing SmartForms or SAPScript forms to Adobe Forms, if needed.
- Integrate forms with SAP workflows and ABAP programs, plus trigger PDF generation/email of forms.
- Work on SAP Output Management / S/4HANA Output Control (BRF+, Output Types) for form printing.
Integration & Architecture:
- Integrate Adobe Forms with SAPs output management framework.
- Use Gateway / OData / APIs for form-related data exchange or hybrid scenarios (e.g., Fiori + forms).
- In S/4HANA scenarios: work with BRF+ decision tables or rules for form logic.
Performance & Quality:
- Analyze and resolve performance issues for both ABAP code and Adobe Forms (form size, database impact).
- Implement error handling, logging, and debugging mechanisms for forms and ABAP.
- Ensure transport management, version control, and code quality in deployments.
Documentation & Support:
- Write technical specs, functional design documents, and mapping documents.
- Provide production support for Adobe Forms and ABAP applications (troubleshooting, bug fixing).
- Support UAT, prepare training materials or user guides for business users.
Collaboration:
- Work with functional consultants, business analysts to understand form requirements.
- Participate in project planning, estimations, and technical reviews.
- Possibly mentor junior ABAP / form developers (if senior role).
