Sales Representative – General Trade

Area Sales Manager
Job Purpose
To achieve sales targets, ensure product visibility, and build strong customer relationships in the **General Trade (GT)** segment by managing distributors and retailers in the assigned territory (Chennai & Thiruvallur).
Key Responsibilities
* Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for General Trade.
* Expand product distribution and ensure availability at retail outlets.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and retailers.
* Execute trade promotions, schemes, and visibility drives in the market.
* Ensure timely collection of payments and maintain credit discipline.
* Monitor competitor activities and provide market intelligence reports.
* Regularly track stock levels with distributors to avoid stock-outs or excess inventory.
* Prepare daily/weekly sales reports and update management on performance.
* Ensure compliance with company policies and ethical sales practices.
Qualification & Experience
* Graduate in any discipline (MBA/PG in Marketing preferred).
* 1–3 years of experience in FMCG / Food & Beverages sales (General Trade).
Skills & Competencies
* Strong communication & negotiation skills.
* Good understanding of FMCG sales & distribution.
* Proficiency in MS Office / Sales reporting tools.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Knowledge of Chennai & Thiruvallur General Trade market is a must.
Compensation
* Salary + Incentives + Allowances (as per company norms).
