Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Role Overview

The Sales Executive GT is responsible for driving primary and secondary sales in the assigned territory by managing distributor operations, servicing General Trade outlets, increasing numeric and weighted distribution, and ensuring strong product availability and visibility.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Distribution Execution

  • Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets (primary & secondary).
  • Handle distributor sales operations and ensure smooth order processing.
  • Expand numeric distribution by onboarding new retail outlets.
  • Increase SKU-wise coverage and depth in existing outlets.

2. General Trade (GT) Market Handling

  • Service kirana stores, grocery shops, wholesalers, and sub-stockists.
  • Ensure regular market visits, beat planning, and route adherence.
  • Build strong relationships with retailers and wholesalers.
  • Implement company pricing, schemes, and trade promotions effectively.

3. Order Booking & Collections

  • Take daily orders from retail outlets and ensure timely billing.
  • Monitor retailer outstanding and support timely collections.
  • Ensure credit discipline as per company policy.

4. Visibility & Merchandising

  • Ensure product visibility as per brand guidelines (shelves, racks, posters).
  • Execute in-store promotions and sampling activities.
  • Track competitor activities and share market intelligence.

5. Reporting & MIS

  • Submit daily sales reports, outlet coverage, and market feedback.
  • Track secondary sales, scheme performance, and retailer feedback.
  • Use ERP / Sales App for order booking and reporting.

  • Basic proficiency in MS Excel / Sales Apps

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory
  • Two-wheeler with valid driving license preferred
  • Knowledge of local market and retailers is an added advantage
