Description
Role & responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with the Factories Act, 1948 and Andhra Pradesh Factory Rules . Conduct regular workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with statutory safety requirements. Provide safety training and awareness programs for workers and supervisors, focusing on factory-specific hazards and controls. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-miss events to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions. Ensure the proper functioning and availability of safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, PPE, and emergency kits. Monitor hazardous processes, materials, and machinery to minimize risks and ensure compliance with health and safety standards. Liaise with factory inspectors and other regulatory authorities during audits and inspections. Maintain documentation of all safety activities, including risk assessments, incident reports, and compliance audits, as required under state and central laws. Assist in implementing fire safety, emergency response plans, and evacuation drills. Ensure regular medical check-ups and health monitoring for employees as per factory regulations. Preferred candidate profile Bachelors degree/diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field. Certification in safety management (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, IOSH) is preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in industrial or factory safety. Sound knowledge of the Factories Act, 1948 , Andhra Pradesh Factory Rules , and other applicable regulations. Experience in handling safety for hazardous processes, chemicals, and equipment. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
