Safety Officer

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
• 3+ years’ experience in construction safety (preferably high-rise projects).
• Certifications: CSP, CHMM, CFPS, NEBOSH/IOSH (preferred).
• Strong in safety audits, hazard identification, risk assessment & emergency planning.
• Knowledge of OSHA/Indian safety laws & best practices.
• Skilled in use/maintenance of safety equipment & PPE.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, with good communication & leadership skills.
• First-aid knowledge and valid driving licence.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Construction -

• Prepare/review safety plans with the project team.
• Conduct risk assessments.
• Induct & train workers/subcontractors.
• Ensure PPE availability & usage.

During Construction -

• Daily site monitoring & inspections.
• Identify unsafe acts/conditions & correct them.
• Enforce PPE & safety practices.
• Coordinate with engineers/contractors on compliance.
• Maintain communication with medical & emergency teams.

Documentation & Reporting -

• Keep inspection & training records.
• Submit weekly/monthly safety reports.
• Investigate incidents & recommend corrective actions.

Emergency Preparedness -

• Ensure fire-fighting & first-aid readiness.
• Conduct mock drills.
• Display evacuation plans & emergency contacts.

Compliance & Audit -

• Ensure compliance with laws (Factories Act, BOCW, NBC 2016).
• Liaise with statutory bodies & support audits.

Worker Welfare -

• Promote safety awareness campaigns.
• Monitor hygiene & welfare facilities.
• Address worker grievances.

End-of-Project -

• Oversee safe demobilization.
• Conduct final safety audit & handover.

Compile lessons learned & safety data.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
