Safety Officer

Job Title: Safety Officer Location: Project Site Experience: 3-5 Years Industry: Engineering / Infrastructure Job Summary: The Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment at the site by implementing and monitoring health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and compliance measures. The role requires proactive risk management, training, and reporting to maintain workplace safety. Key Responsibilities: Implement and enforce site safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Monitor and ensure compliance with the Permit to Work (PTW) system at the site. Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments. Identify hazards and take preventive measures to reduce risks. Prepare HIRA documentation such as Risk Safety Analysis (RSA) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA). Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, preparing reports and recommendations for corrective actions. Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and training sessions for site workers. Ensure compliance with local, state, and industry safety regulations. Rectify unsafe practices and conditions to prevent workplace hazards. Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all workers. Monitor emergency preparedness and conduct fire drills and first-aid training. Maintain logs of conducted training, drills, and incident records for audits and compliance checks. Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, and contractors to enforce safety measures. Requirements: Certification in NEBOSH / IOSH / OSHA or any recognized safety course. 3-5 years of experience in a site-based safety role, preferably in engineering, infrastructure. Strong knowledge of safety regulations, risk assessments, HIRA documentation, and compliance requirements. Experience in conducting safety audits and accident investigations. Excellent communication and training skills. Ability to work independently and handle emergency situations effectively.
