API Pharmaceutical Plant

Safety Officer

Qualification :

B.Sc / B.Tech / Diploma in Engineering or Science
Diploma in Industrial Safety (DIS)

Experience : 3–6 years of relevant experience in API pharmaceutical

Key ResponsibilitiesSafety & Compliance

Ensure compliance with State Factory Rules, GMP, and other statutory safety regulations.
Implement and monitor EHS policies, SOPs, and safety systems across production, utility, QC, warehouse, and engineering areas.
Liaison with Factory Inspectorate, Pollution Control Board, Fire Department, and other authorities.

Risk Assessment & Control

Conduct Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and implement control measures.
Monitor handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals, solvents, and intermediates.
Ensure proper use of PPE, safety interlocks, and safety equipment.

Training & Awareness

Conduct safety induction, toolbox talks, mock drills, and periodic safety training for employees and contractors.
Promote safety culture and behavioral safety programs.

Incident Management

Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; prepare reports and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
Maintain accident records and statutory registers.

Emergency Preparedness

Develop and maintain On-site Emergency Plan.
Coordinate fire safety systems, evacuation drills, and emergency response teams.
Ensure availability and maintenance of fire-fighting equipment.

Audits & Inspections

Conduct internal safety audits, plant inspections, and compliance checks.
Support regulatory audits, GMP audits, and customer audits related to EHS.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹550,000.00 per year
