Job Description

Safety Equipment Management Ensure all safety equipment (fire extinguishers, first aid kits, personal protective equipment (PPE), etc.) is properly maintained, functional, and accessible to workers. Ensure PPE (e.g., gloves, helmets, safety glasses) is appropriate for the specific tasks and provided to employees. Risk Assessment and Hazard Identification Conduct regular inspections of the workplace to identify potential hazards (e.g., machinery, chemicals, electrical systems, ergonomic risks). Perform risk assessments to determine the likelihood and severity of hazards and recommend preventive measures. Safety Training and Education Organize safety training sessions for all employees, ensuring they are familiar with emergency procedures, first aid, machine safety, and handling hazardous materials. Ensure new employees undergo a proper safety induction before starting their tasks. Compliance with Safety Standards Ensure compliance with national and international safety regulations, such as OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards, and industry-specific safety guidelines. Stay up-to-date on changes in safety laws and standards, and adapt company policies accordingly. Incident and Accident Investigation Investigate accidents and incidents, gathering facts and identifying the root causes. Develop reports on incidents and suggest corrective actions to prevent future occurrences. Emergency Response Planning Develop and regularly update emergency response plans for situations such as fires, chemical spills, machinery malfunctions, or natural disasters. Conduct regular fire drills, evacuation drills, and other emergency preparedness exercises. Monitoring Workplace Safety Monitor and track safety compliance on the production floor, including proper machine usage, manual handling, and safe chemical storage. Encourage a safety-conscious culture among employees and management. Reporting and Documentation Maintain safety records, including accident reports, inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits. Prepare and submit regular safety reports to management regarding safety performance and any issues or recommendations. Hazardous Material Handling Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous materials used in textile manufacturing, such as dyes, solvents, or other chemicals. Conduct training on safe chemical handling and spill response. Collaboration with Other Departments Work closely with the management team, human resources, and other departments to align safety goals with the company’s objectives. Provide input for safety considerations during the design of new production processes or equipment. Health and Ergonomics Promote employee health by identifying ergonomics issues that could lead to musculoskeletal injuries and recommending improvements. Ensure the workplace is free of environmental hazards like noise, excessive heat, or poor air quality. Continuous Improvement Implement and promote a safety management system and encourage continuous improvement in safety practices. Review and revise safety protocols regularly based on incident trends, feedback from employees, or industry best practices. Key Skills and Attributes Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations. Excellent communication skills to train employees and report findings. Attention to detail in safety audits and risk assessments. Ability to react quickly and calmly in emergency situations.
