Job Description

Job Summary

Ruby on Rails Tech Lead

Key Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end technical delivery of ROR projects requirement analysis, design, development, deployment, and support.
Architect scalable and high-performance application solutions using
Ruby on Rails and related technologies
.
Review code, enforce coding standards, and guide developers with best practices.
Breakdown complex business problems into clear technical requirements and development plans.
Design and develop
RESTful APIs, microservices, and data-intensive applications
.
Oversee database modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning.
Manage sprint planning, task delegation, and delivery tracking in an Agile environment.
Collaborate closely with Product Owners, QA, UI/UX, and DevOps teams.
Identify technical risks, propose solutions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Train, mentor, and upskill team members.

Required Skills & Experience

7–10 years of hands-on experience in Ruby on Rails development.
Strong expertise in
MVC architecture, OOP, and design patterns
.
Extensive experience with
PostgreSQL / MySQL
, data modeling, and performance tuning.
Experience with
background job frameworks
(Sidekiq / Resque / Delayed Job).
Hands-on experience with
RSpec / Minitest
for test-driven development.
Solid understanding of
JavaScript
,
HTML5
,
CSS3
,
Bootstrap
,
jQuery
.
Experience with
Git
,
CI/CD pipelines
, and deployment automation.
Strong ability to solve performance bottlenecks and improve scalability.

Preferred / Good to Have

Experience with
modern JS frameworks
(React / Angular / Vue).
Knowledge of
AWS / Azure / GCP
cloud ecosystem.
Exposure to
containerization and orchestration
(Docker / Kubernetes).
Experience with
Microservices architecture
.
Familiarity with
Redis, Kafka, Elasticsearch, GraphQL
.
Experience applying
OWASP security principles
, API security (OAuth, JWT).

Soft Skills

Strong leadership and team-mentoring experience.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Education

Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
