Job Summary: The Room Service Order Taker is responsible for receiving and processing room service orders promptly and accurately. They serve as the primary point of contact between guests and the room service team, ensuring an exceptional in-room dining experience by providing professional, courteous, and efficient service over the phone or in person. Key Responsibilities: Answer all incoming room service calls in a courteous, timely, and professional manner. Accurately take food and beverage orders from guests, ensuring complete details including room number, dietary restrictions, and any special requests. Input orders into the POS system and relay them to the kitchen and service staff. Provide information about menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods. Upsell additional items and promote special offers or signature dishes. Confirm and repeat orders back to guests to ensure accuracy. Coordinate delivery times and follow up on delayed orders. Handle guest complaints and concerns effectively or escalate to the supervisor as necessary. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the order-taking area. Assist in updating menus and maintaining accurate menu knowledge, including daily specials or unavailable items. Perform closing or opening duties such as preparing order logs, inventorying supplies, and reviewing guest feedback. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality or F&B training preferred. Previous experience in room service, F&B, or customer service is an advantage. Excellent verbal communication and listening skills. Proficient in using POS systems and basic computer applications. Strong multitasking and organizational skills. Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus. Pleasant telephone etiquette and a professional demeanor. Physical Requirements: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. May be required to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Work Environment: Fast-paced hotel environment. Collaborative team culture with a focus on guest satisfaction.
