A Resident Medical Officer (RMO), or Duty Doctor, provides direct patient care under senior staff supervision, focusing on patient monitoring, performing medical procedures, responding to emergencies, maintaining records, and collaborating with the healthcare team during shifts. The role involves significant patient interaction, managing medical orders, conducting ward rounds, and ensuring adherence to hospital policies, often requiring flexibility to work rotating shifts including nights and weekends.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Care:

Providing initial diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care for patients with various medical conditions.

• Medical Procedures:

Performing routine procedures and assisting in complex or emergency situations.

• Patient Monitoring:

Conducting daily rounds, reviewing patient progress, and ensuring accurate administration of medications and treatments.

• Emergency Response:

Acting as the first responder to medical emergencies and coordinating initial patient stabilization.

• Documentation:

Maintaining accurate, up-to-date medical records, treatment sheets, and patient consent forms.

• Team Collaboration:

Communicating effectively with nurses, specialists, and other staff to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.

• Administrative Tasks:

Managing patient admissions, discharges, and following up on investigation results.
