Job Description

a medical doctor specializing in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of conditions affecting the joints, muscles, bones, and autoimmune system, such as arthritis, osteoporosis, and lupus

Diagnosis:
Evaluate patients by gathering their medical history, performing physical exams, and ordering/interpreting diagnostic tests like imaging and lab work to identify rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases.
Treatment Planning:
Develop comprehensive treatment plans that may include medications (NSAIDs, disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs), physical therapy, lifestyle advice, and other innovative treatments.
Patient Management:
Manage chronic conditions, monitor patient progress, and educate patients about their conditions and treatment plans.
Procedures:
Perform certain procedures, such as joint injections, to relieve pain and inflammation.
Collaboration:
Work with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
Research & Education:
May engage in research, clinical trials, and serve as educators or mentors for medical students and junior doctors.
