As a highly vigilant and dependable Retail Security Guard, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of customers, employees, and store property. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain a secure environment by preventing theft, handling emergencies, and fostering a positive shopping experience for all customers. Your key responsibilities will include regularly patrolling designated areas of the retail store to deter theft and vandalism. Additionally, you will be expected to provide customer assistance by offering directions and information in a professional and helpful manner. Observing and reporting any suspicious activities, such as shoplifting or fraudulent behavior, will also be part of your duties. You may need to detain suspects when necessary, following company policies. Utilizing security equipment like cameras, alarms, and monitoring systems will be essential for identifying potential security breaches or safety concerns. It will be crucial for you to complete detailed reports of security-related incidents and maintain an organized record of daily activities. In case of emergencies, such as fire alarms or medical incidents, you must respond promptly by following company protocols to ensure the safety of everyone in the store. Collaboration with local law enforcement may be required in the event of criminal activity, where you will provide detailed information and support investigations. Enforcing store policies regarding safety, customer conduct, and regulations will be necessary to create a secure shopping environment. Additionally, promoting a positive and safe shopping experience through courteous and professional customer interactions is expected. While previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred, it is not required for this role. Strong observational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally are essential.
