Research Scientist - RDIT Modelling (Quantum)

As a computational chemist in the agrochemical industry, you will play a crucial role in leveraging your quantum chemistry skills for chemical process optimization and product development. Your responsibilities will include: - Having a thorough understanding of DFT and ab initio electronic structure theory methods. - Demonstrating proficiency with Quantum Chemistry based software tools such as Turbomole, Gaussian, deMon, GAMESS-US, Quantum espresso, VASP, etc. - Possessing expertise in scripting languages like Bash, Python, Perl, etc., and working in a Linux environment and high-performance computing platforms. - Utilizing electronic structure based software tools to understand chemical reactivity and reaction mechanisms. - Preferably, having experience in catalyst design and the use of data-based models for industrial process optimization. - Utilizing in-house experimental data and modelled parameters for predictive modeling and statistics. Moreover, you are expected to have a working knowledge of classical methods like force fields and molecular dynamics simulations. The ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary scientific environment and effectively communicate technical results to experimentalists is essential for this role. The ideal candidate for this position should have: - 3+ years of postdoc or industrial experience in a related field. - A PhD in Chemistry/Physics specializing in Theoretical Chemistry/Computational Chemistry/Chemical Physics or a related discipline. - Graduated from a reputed University/Institute in India or overseas with excellent academic credentials.
