Prime Video is changing the way millions of customers interact with video content. We're looking for a talented Video Codec Engineer to join our team in developing and optimizing video compression technologies for Prime Video's streaming infrastructure.
Key job responsibilitiesAs a Codec Engineer at Prime Video, you'll work on encoder/decoder solutions that impact billions of streaming hours annually. You'll collaborate with team members to optimize codec performance and implement effective video delivery solutions across various platforms.
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience- Experience programming with at least one software programming language- Solid understanding of video coding standards (H.264, HEVC, AV1)
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent- . Experience with video encoding optimization and profiling tools . Knowledge of video quality assessment and metrics . Familiarity with open-source video encoders and FFmpeg . Experience working on video processing systems . Experience with AI-assisted C/C++ code development .
