Research Assistant- Qualitative

Project:

1. About the Project

The study aims to assess the Quality of Life (QOL) among elderly individuals residing in urban areas of Bengaluru using standardized tools and community-based data collection including In-Depth Interviews.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct field-based data collection among the identified participants of urban Bengaluru
• Administer structured questionnaires and face-to-face interviews with elderly participants
• Ensure informed consent is taken from all participants before data collection
• Maintain accuracy, confidentiality, and integrity of collected data
• Record, verify, and enter data into forms, tablets, or mobile applications as per project guidelines
• Coordinate with project supervisors to ensure achievement of daily/weekly data collection targets
• Report field challenges, progress updates, and observations regularly
• Ensure adherence to research ethics, Good Clinical Practice standards, and organizational policies
• Assist in scheduling interviews, participants sensitisation when needed
• Support in transcription, documentation, analysis and filing of project-related records

3. Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work (MSW), Clinical Psychology or related fields of social and behavioural sciences
• Candidates with experience in conducting qualitative interviews (such as in-depth interviews or focus group discussions) will be given preference
• Prior experience in research related to the elderly population
• Ability to communicate effectively in

  Kannada and basic English

• Basic computer literacy and ability to enter data into digital systems

4. Skills and Competencies

• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data recording
• Ability to work independently and meet timelines
• Willingness to travel within Bengaluru urban limits.
