You are a seasoned legal professional being sought to assume the role of Head Legal for a company based in Mumbai, overseeing the Legal function for all group entities. In this key position, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice on various aspects such as regulatory compliance, contracts, litigation, due diligence, and strategic transactions, with a specific focus on the financial services sector, particularly in the areas of capital markets, NBFC regulations, and securities law. Your primary responsibilities will include offering sound legal counsel and strategic guidance to the management team on a wide range of issues including business operations, contracts, mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships. You will be tasked with ensuring strict adherence to regulatory requirements set forth by SEBI, NSE, BSE, RBI, IRDA, and other relevant bodies across all group companies. Additionally, you will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various legal agreements, overseeing litigation and dispute resolution matters, ensuring compliance with corporate governance practices, managing legal risks, and developing comprehensive legal policies and frameworks aligned with industry standards. To qualify for this role, you should hold an LLB/LLM degree from a reputable law school, possess 10-18 years of relevant legal experience with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity, have prior exposure to the BFSI/Capital Markets/Broking sector, and demonstrate a deep understanding of financial sector laws and regulations. Strong leadership, communication, integrity, and the ability to navigate a dynamic and regulated environment are essential attributes for success in this role.
