As a Clinical Nurse 2 in the EC Other Surgery Services department at UC San Diego Health, you will be part of a Magnet designated organization, which is a prestigious recognition held by only 10% of all U.S. hospitals. UC San Diego Health has proudly maintained its Magnet status since 2011. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide autonomous nursing care by assessing and administering appropriate nursing actions for patient care populations. - Practice autonomously in alignment with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. - Exercise independent judgment within interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary patient care approaches. - Maintain ACLS certification at the time of hire with a commitment to obtain ART within six months of hire date. - Demonstrate empathy, kindness, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a fast-paced environment. **Qualifications Required:** - Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. - Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State of California. - Minimum of 6 months recent experience as a Preop RN. - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with empathy towards staff and patients. - Must be willing to work varied hours, days, shifts, and locations based on the business needs of the 24-hour Medical Center. **Preferred Qualifications:** - Two (2) years recent minimum Preop RN experience. - BSN degree. - CPAN and/or CAPA certification. In addition to these responsibilities and qualifications, as a Clinical Nurse 2 at UC San Diego Health, you may be subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical. The selected candidate may also be considered for hiring at the CNIII level pending review and approval by the Nurse Executive Council.
