Job Purpose

The candidate will be primarily responsible for directing and overseeing the timely and thorough completion of all corporate ethics-related investigations, including those involving unethical, malicious, fraudulent, corrupt, or bribery-related incidents involving employees and third parties/counterparties across company operations.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Investigations & Ethical Governance

  • Lead and manage all types of investigations related to unethical, malicious, fraudulent, corrupt, or bribery-related incidents involving employees and third parties/counterparties across company operations.
  • Review incoming cases in detail, including system analysis, to determine appropriate investigation action plans.
  • Initiate internal reviews, engage with complainants and relevant personnel to gather supplementary information.
  • Independently conduct covert and overt investigations into unethical behaviour, cybersecurity incidents, and policy violations, ensuring alignment with recognized best practices.
  • Perform thorough data and information analysis related to misconduct, policy breaches, and integrity concerns.
  • Conduct interviews with involved individuals and document outcomes with precision and confidentiality.
  • Execute digital forensic analysis on mobile devices, laptops, desktops, servers, and network infrastructure to support investigative findings.
  • Perform root-cause analysis post-investigation to extract learnings and drive preventive measures.
  • Analyse investigation outcomes, including financial impact, and identify gaps in internal controls, training, or processes; recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare detailed investigation reports with logical conclusions and provide timely updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Operate autonomously or in collaboration with subject matter experts to meet investigation SLAs and ensure resolution quality.
  • Initiate recovery procedures for any financial losses incurred by the company due to employee misconduct.
  • Maintain surveillance on employees, third parties, or counterparties exhibiting questionable integrity.

Implement and Monitor Vigil Mechanism at Refinery

  • Plan and execute the vigil mechanism at the refinery site in close coordination with the Chief Security Officer (CSO) and Head Security Risk and TPDD.
  • Collaborate with the Head Security and Head Refinery to ensure seamless deployment and operationalization of the vigil framework.
  • Monitor inbound procurement materials and outbound scrap movements to detect and prevent irregularities or potential misconduct.

Stakeholder Coordination & Cross-Functional Engagement

  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, HR, Finance, Security, Internal Audit, and external vendors to facilitate investigations and ensure compliance objectives are met.
  • Manage outsourced vendors and coordinate with internal teams to drive resolution and continuous improvement.

Strategic Planning & Budget Oversight

  • Develop and manage the annual business plan and budget for the investigations function; provide periodic updates to Audit and Management Committees.

Capability Building & Mentorship

  • Deliver training programs on investigative methodologies and cyber forensics to build internal capability and ensure knowledge transfer.
  • Mentor junior team members to uphold investigative standards and ethical conduct.

Security Audits & Special Assignments

  • Conduct audits of refinery security systems and support ad-hoc assignments from senior compliance leadership.
  • Carry out assignments / works assigned by Head Security Risk and TPDD / Chief Security Officer time to time.

Qualifications

Knowledge

Qualifications

  • CA/CPA/LLB / MBA / CFA or similar qualifications.
  • Certified Fraud Examiner and/or Former law enforcement officials will have added advantage.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint, as well as Internet research tools.

Experience

  • Total exp 12- 15 years of professional experience involving internal audit, forensic accounting, risk management and corporate compliance.
  • Proven experience in conducting Corporate Ethics/FCPA/UKBA/Regulatory investigations and conducting witness and suspect interviews including Senior Management Personnel.
