R&D Image Sensor Head

You will be joining Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL), a greenfield venture of the Tata Group specializing in manufacturing precision components. As a subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd., TEPL is embarking on building India's first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry to produce chips for various applications like power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers, and high-performance computing logic. **Role Overview:** As a key member of the team, your role will involve leading a team to develop and transfer CMOS Image Sensor technologies across different nodes, managing project phase gates, optimizing technology parameters, and designing test chips for device/technology optimization. You will also be responsible for maintaining core CMOS transistor performance, spec'ing competitive arrays, and interfacing closely with customers throughout the technology development cycle. **Key Responsibilities:** - Lead a team to develop and transfer CMOS Image Sensor technologies on various nodes - Create financial/business justifications for projects in collaboration with the Business/Product team - Manage project phase gates effectively - Build and lead a high-functioning team of diverse talents - Optimize technology parameters such as Quantum Efficiency, Pixel Size, Cross-talk, and Dark current - Design and Layout test chips for device/technology optimization - Assist in SPICE model and design kit creation - Maintain core CMOS transistor performance for array designs - Interface closely with customers at all stages of technology development - Present findings and progress to customers, peers, and executives - Travel as required for the role **Qualifications Required:** - M.S or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent - Strong understanding of CMOS and eNVM device physics, process modules, yield improvement, and failure mechanisms - Proven leadership qualities in managing technical teams and assisting in their development - Deep understanding of CMOS Image Sensor technologies and process modules - Familiarity with color filter coatings - Ability to work in cross-functional teams and deliver projects within timeline and cost targets - Innovation and competitive mindset The company, as a subsidiary of the Tata group, operates globally with a mission to improve the quality of life through stakeholder value creation based on leadership and trust.
