R&D HEAD

Responsibilities
1. New Product Development (NPD)Lead formulation and development of innovative waterproofing solutions (liquidmembranes, cementitious coatings, PU coatings, crystalline products, etc.). Modify existing products to improve performance (e.g., adhesion, flexibility, curing time, durability). Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to align new products with marketdemand.

2. Formulation and Testing
Design and optimize chemical formulations based on polymer chemistry, cementchemistry, and nanotechnology applications. Plan and execute laboratory trials, application testing (ASTM, EN, IS standards). Evaluate raw materials from suppliers and approve/reject based on test results.

3. Quality Assurance & Compliance
Ensure all R&D outputs meet internal quality benchmarks and externalcertification standards (CE, ISI, ASTM, etc.). Work closely with the QA/QC team to establish specifications and test methods. Maintain documentation for ISO, R&D audits, patent filings4. Process Innovation and Scale-upDevelop and optimize production processes for lab-to-plantscale-up. Solve problems related to productstability, shelf-life, production consistency. Coordinate with manufacturing to troubleshoot formulation orproductionchallenges.

5. Technical Support & Training
Provide technical assistance to customers, applicators, and project teamsregarding product application and performance. Train internal teams (sales, application engineers) on product technicalities andUSPs.

6. Market and Competitor Analysis
Continuously monitor competitor products and market trends. Benchmark performance of new formulations against competitor offerings.7. Raw Material Sourcing and EvaluationCollaborate with procurement for sourcing innovative raw materials. Evaluate cost-performance balance for raw materials without compromising onquality.

8. Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with sales, marketing, production, purchase, and project teams. Participate in customer meetings, site trials, and majorproject specifications.

9. Sustainability Initiatives
Research and develop eco-friendly waterproofing systems (low VOC, greencertifications). Promote sustainable formulations aligning with green building norms (LEED, GRIHA).

10. Team Leadership
Lead and mentor a small team of chemists and technicians. Set goals, review progress, and build a culture of innovation and scientific thinking.
