R&D Engineer - Alternative Insulating Fluids

Role Overview: As an R&D Engineer - Alternative Insulating Fluids at Hitachi Energy, you will play a crucial role in contributing your innovative ideas to identify, propose, and implement technology development solutions. You will independently solve industrial problems and showcase your technical expertise through various engineering assignments within R&D projects. Key Responsibilities: - Identify and classify potential alternative insulating fluids. - Define requirements for fluids related to designing, manufacturability, and in-service operation of Transformers. - Document and execute fluids qualification test methods. - Collaborate closely with Material laboratories, Supply chain, OpeX, and Engineering to define and measure functional requirements. - Work with Transformer materials and components suppliers. - Verify existing production equipment for new fluids. - Cooperate with factories during pilot projects. - Improve Technical, Production Standards, and Material specifications. - Explore and enhance risk assessment methodology for new fluid introductions. - Coordinate activities with a strong understanding of R&D processes and tools. - Participate actively in engineering networks to enhance expertise and visibility. - Engage in IP discussions, prepare project clearance reports, and identify risks in R&D projects. Qualification Required: - Masters degree in Materials engineering. - Minimum 5 years of experience in research and development with liquid insulating materials. - Solid understanding of the standard body of knowledge in the relevant technical field and technical proficiency. - Experience in the Transformer industry is beneficial. - Experience in material chemical analysis and OpeX perfections are advantageous. - Project Management experience is an advantage. - Willingness to work in remote and diverse environments. - Willingness to travel to factories when necessary. - Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.,
