Raw Material Planner

As a Raw Material Planner in the Raw Material Planning department at our FMCG / Automotive Tyres company, you will be responsible for the end-to-end raw material planning for our Tirunelveli plant, which involves managing relationships with around 100 vendors and overseeing over 150 raw material items. Your primary goal will be to ensure the timely availability of materials with the right quality, quantity, and cost to prevent any production loss. Your key responsibilities will include managing inventory planning, forecasting, vendor scheduling, and import/local procurement activities. Collaboration with internal teams such as Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, and Procurement will be essential to ensure smooth operations and business continuity. You will also be expected to optimize inventory levels by utilizing various supply chain methods like JIT, VMI, Kanban, along with digital tools. In this role, you will lead data-driven planning initiatives through analytics, demand forecasting, and MIS/dashboard reporting. Ensuring real-time data updates in SAP, maintaining documentation, and compliance standards will be crucial. Additionally, you will support inter-plant material movement and strive for high On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) delivery performance while optimizing stock levels. The ideal candidate for this position should have at least 5-7 years of experience in supply chain, planning, and procurement, with a strong educational background holding a B.Tech/BE degree (Mandatory) and an MBA/Diploma in Supply Chain (Preferred). Proficiency in SAP MM, Advanced Excel, and PowerPoint is required, along with expertise in data analytics tools like Power BI and SQL. A deep understanding of import/export logistics, inventory management, and supplier coordination is essential. Key competencies for success in this role include the ability to work independently, make informed decisions, collaborate effectively across functions, and maintain a result-oriented and analytical mindset. Strong communication skills and a team player attitude are also crucial attributes.
