We Are Hiring – Cutting Manager (Leather Division) CUTTING MANAGER ROLE TASKS LEATHER - Knowledge of leather selection. - Knowledge of how leather footage is done. CUTTING - Knowledge of cutting patterns. - Knowledge of how to measure patterns and take out the costing of leather from the pattern - Understanding of which patterns need to be cut from which selection of leather. - Maximising leather consumption by accurately planning the cutting process and to ensure wastage within accepted tolerances. BOOK-KEEPING - Maintaining a record of how much leather has been issued as per prescribed leather average against the style the cutter is cutting - Checking the average after every trial cutting and flagging any discrepancies to the leather store in-charge. - Checking the average during bulk cutting and comparing it to trial cutting data. Flagging the issue to leather store in-charge. - Creating detailed cutting report of the order post-shipment. - Ensuring against the order that all styles are cut. JUNIOR MERCHANDISER ROLE TASKS ORDER MANAGEMENT Receive purchase orders from buyers and verify details (style, quantity, delivery dates, pricing) Verify internal order sheets with buyer PO with relevant information for purchase, production and planning teams. Track order progress. SAMPLE DEVELOPMENT & APPROVALS Coordinate with sampling team for development of proto, salesman and pre-production samples. Ensure samples are made as per buyer tech packs and specifications. Track sample timelines and inform senior merchandiser or dept head for buyer approvals. BUYER COMMUNICATION Act as a point-of-contact for buyers on a day-to-day basis (order updates, changes, clarifications). Fluency in written and spoken English required. Share production updates, delays, and shipment plan professionally and clearly. Escalate issues like material shortage or QC concerns to the senior merchandisers / dept head. PRODUCTION COORDINATION Work closely with the production team to ensure timely execution of orders. Communicate buyer requirements (packing standards, labeling, quality expectations) to production. Inform production team of any changes in delivery schedule from buyer or in incoming materials. Provide order trim cards to production team on timely basis and ensure attendance and active participation at pre-production meetings. MATERIAL PLANNING & FOLLOW UP Coordinate with the purchase department for timely availability of materials, trims and packing. Track material arrival vs. planned production dates and highlight shortages or delays. BASIC CRITERIA College graduate with 1 to 2 years of merchandising experience. Fluency in written and spoken English. Good communication and coordination skills. Knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word required. Good computer literacy. Nehru Road) 1. Purpose of the Role To manage and coordinate all import-related activities — ensuring timely, cost-effective, and compliant import of goods and raw materials in line with company and government regulations. The Import Executive acts as the key bridge between overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, customs authorities, and internal departments (like procurement, finance, and production). 2. Key Responsibilities A. Import Operations Coordinate with overseas suppliers for order confirmation, shipment schedules, and documentation. Manage end-to-end import documentation — including Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin, Insurance, and other regulatory papers. Ensure pre-shipment and post-shipment documentation is accurate and complete. Track shipments and ensure timely clearance and delivery to the warehouse/factory. Follow up with CHA (Customs House Agents), shipping lines, and freight forwarders to monitor shipment progress. Coordinate with internal teams for material availability and inventory planning. B. Compliance & Documentation Ensure all imports comply with DGFT, Customs, RBI, and other applicable government regulations. Maintain updated knowledge of import duties, tariffs, HS codes, and EXIM policy. Handle filing of Bill of Entry, Import General Manifest (IGM), and any related customs formalities. Liaise with DGFT for advance authorizations, EPCG, and other export-import schemes (if applicable). Maintain proper records of all import transactions for audit and compliance purposes. C. Cost & Vendor Management Obtain competitive freight and clearing rates from agents and forwarders. Negotiate with vendors to ensure cost optimization while maintaining reliability. Track and control logistics costs — including freight, insurance, and customs duties. Verify supplier and freight forwarder invoices and coordinate with accounts for payment processing. D. Coordination & Communication Work closely with the procurement team for import order planning. Liaise with finance for LC (Letter of Credit), TT (Telegraphic Transfer), and bank documentation. Collaborate with CHA for customs clearance and transportation of goods. Report shipment status and issues to management regularly. E. Continuous Improvement Identify bottlenecks in import operations and propose solutions. Stay updated on international trade developments, customs rules, and logistics trends. Support process automation and digital documentation initiatives.
