Role & responsibilities

The Radiology Report Typist is responsible for accurately and efficiently typing radiology reports dictated by radiologists. The role requires attention to detail, strong medical terminology knowledge, and timely report delivery to ensure smooth functioning of the radiology department and high-quality patient service.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Transcribe and type radiology reports from dictations or handwritten notes provided by radiologists.
  • Ensure all reports are grammatically correct, properly formatted, and medically accurate.
  • Cross-check patient details, study types, and findings before finalizing reports.
  • Coordinate with radiologists for clarification of unclear dictations or missing information.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient and report data in compliance with hospital and regulatory policies.
  • Ensure timely completion and printing/uploading of reports for patient delivery or electronic medical record (EMR) upload.
  • Manage report queues and prioritize urgent and emergency cases as directed.
  • Maintain log records of completed reports and assist in audit documentation when required.
  • Support the radiology front desk in report handover and coordination, if necessary.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Education:

    Graduate in any discipline (Preferably in Life Sciences / Medical Transcription / Healthcare background)
  • Experience:

    13 years of experience in medical transcription or report typing (preferably in radiology)
  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in MS Office and hospital information systems (HIS)
    • Good typing speed with accuracy
    • Familiarity with radiology terminology (X-Ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, etc.)
