Role Overview

The Quantity Surveyor (MEP) will be responsible for managing all cost and contract aspects of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing works within industrial projects. This includes estimating, budgeting, procurement, cost control, and ensuring compliance with contractual and legal requirements throughout the project lifecycle. [meldrumcs.com]

Key Responsibilities

• Cost Estimation & Budgeting

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for MEP works during design and tender stages.
• Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to determine material, labor, and time requirements. [interviewguy.com]

• Procurement & Contract Management

• Advise on procurement strategies for MEP packages.
• Prepare and review subcontract documents, bills of quantities, and tender evaluations.

• Cost Control & Reporting

• Monitor project costs and prepare cost-to-complete reports.
• Conduct cost value analysis and manage variations.

• Risk & Compliance

• Perform risk and value management for MEP works.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.

• Coordination

• Liaise with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure smooth execution.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in MEP quantity surveying for industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost control, and procurement processes.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, cost management software, and ERP systems.
• Membership in RICS or equivalent professional body preferred.
