Quantity Surveyor / Joinery Estimator - Civil

As a Quantity Surveyor / Joinery Estimator, your main responsibilities will include preparing detailed estimates and bids for both residential and commercial joinery projects. This includes providing estimates for Fire Doorsets in compliance with fire regulations. You will be required to collect, analyze, and interpret data related to project costs, materials, and labor to support decision-making and strategic planning. Additionally, you will manage the financial and contractual aspects of projects throughout their lifecycle, from inception to final completion. This will involve developing and maintaining accurate cost plans and budgets, managing procurement processes, administering contracts, and identifying potential financial and contractual risks. You will also be responsible for providing regular financial reports and forecasts to stakeholders, as well as working closely with the company's CEO to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. To be successful in this role, you must have proven experience in a similar position and be adept at developing estimates and bids for joinery projects, including both Non-Fire rated and Fire Rated doorsets. A solid understanding of accounting and project management concepts, as well as construction methods, is essential. You should also possess strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to use CAD software. Being well-organized, reliable, and having a good understanding of building codes will be crucial. Additionally, you must be capable of reviewing sites, designing solutions for customer problems, and operating company systems to develop bids and estimates. Excellent interpersonal, written, and negotiation communication skills are required, along with a Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction science, or a relevant field.
